Life Transitions

Transition to Marriage (Premarital)

Preparing for marriage means learning how to navigate differences, communicate effectively, and build a shared vision and sense of purpose for the future. Premarital therapy (for individuals or couples) provides an opportunity to strengthen communication skills in your relationship, address potential areas of disagreement head-on, and develop practical skills that support long-term romantic health/satisfaction. Given how strongly romantic relationships are linked to mental and physical health, you deserve to have a strong, healthy foundation in your relationship.

Transition to Parenthood

The transition to parenthood can bring joy and meaning alongside sleep disruption, identity shifts, and changes in relationship dynamics/family roles. Therapy can help individuals and couples manage stress, strengthen teamwork skills, and adapt to new roles, all while maintaining emotional well-being and a strong partnership from which to grow a family.

Transition to a New Career

Starting a new career or changing professional paths often involves uncertainty, increased pressure, and shifts in confidence or work-life balance. Therapy offers practical support for managing stress, clarifying values and goals, and building the resilience needed to navigate change while maintaining healthy, supportive relationships and overall mental health.

Adolescence & Emerging Adulthood

A lot can change between ages 13 and 30.

Adolescents and emerging adults experience rapid change in self-identity, sense of independence, responsibilities, relationships, and life direction. It is important to have a steady, supportive space to make sense of new pressures, build confidence, and develop skills for navigating challenges during this important stage of life and development.

Transition to College

Starting college often brings excitement alongside stress related to academic demands, social group and friendship transitions, increased independence, separation from family of origin, and uncertainty about the future. Therapy can help young adults manage anxiety, adjust to new people, places, and things, strengthen coping abilities, and build healthy, supportive relationships that foster success across contexts.

Transition to Career

Entering the workforce or choosing a career path can feel overwhelming, especially when expectations, financial pressures, and self-doubt begin to take hold. I support emerging adults seeking to clarify their personal and professional goals, build mental and emotional resilience for the workplace, and develop confidence in decision-making while balancing work demands with mental health and personal relationships.

Building Healthy Romantic Relationships

Early romantic relationships can play a powerful role in shaping long-term mental and physical health. Therapy can help adolescents and emerging adults develop emotional awareness, set healthy boundaries, navigate conflict like a pro, and build relationship skills that support secure and fulfilling partnerships over time.
